Elliot Stechman

Elliot Stechman is a radio broadcasting specialist with over 20 years’ experience.

For the past 11 years Elliot, has been based in India working with various companies, setting up and assisting in running radio stations.

In the 11 years Elliot has been the driving force behind a lot of the technology that is now deployed at radio stations across India. In his initial stint at RCS as the India & Middle East General Manager for 5 years, he was hands on in training and teaching the first generation of commercial radio announcers and music programmers on how to use the RCS solutions. Elliot was able to bring real life western radio examples and mould them to the way the Indian public would enjoy the new commercial medium.

While spearheading RCS, Elliot was also the brains behind the very successful monitoring product called Media Monitors. With Elliot’s vision and technological expertise, Elliot designed and opened the first off shore processing centre in Mumbai for RCS, where today they have over 250 staff working 24/7 monitoring radio stations from around the world including the UK. Elliot also launched the Media Monitors product in India and Australia as well (known locally as AirCheck) where it now monitors 80% of the commercial radio stations across both countries in real time. Thanks to the firm foundation of technology and a very effective business model created by Elliot, Media Monitors is today the most profitable business for RCS outside their USA operations.

From RCS, Elliot moved to Reliance Capital where he was employed as an advisor to the Chairman. Elliot’s role roll was to make sure that the radio group delivered the state of the art radio facilities using the most up to date technology available for the broadcast sector. With the technology Elliot had suggested and planned, the radio group was able to build and launch 40 brand new radio stations in under 18 months.

Elliot’s core skills are in Technology for Broadcast. Elliot is very well versed in the latest technologies for the broadcast area including the new digital standards that are being rolled out around the world. He also has a very comprehensive understanding on how the consumer consumes the various media products available today in India.
